The brand-new facility at 536 Boston Post Road replaces the grocer’s former location in Wayland, which closed in February. The store is a key component – and the first milestone – of one of the largest developments in Sudbury’s history, the reuse of 50 acres formerly home to defense contractor Raytheon.
The project includes a 250-unit apartment building, a 48-unit memory care assisted-living facility, and 57 condos for those age 55 and older. Some housing units are expected to come online as early as winter and spring of 2018, while the entire project should be complete by next year’s end.
Shops and restaurants near the Whole Foods are scheduled to open by early summer 2018. National Development and Avalon Bay Communities are partnering for the project, known as Meadow Walk Sudbury
